Church member testimonials

Recently a dear friend and co-worker passed away. Throughout her brief but courageous battle with ALS she remained strong. I envied her so much. Her strength came from her unrelenting faith. She knew Jesus died for her sins and she had a place at his side in Heaven. I was in  awe of her strength and her faith. I had to have what she had. I began a search of local churches to search for my faith. In the beginning I looked for that Norman Rockwell feeling; that kind of church that had all the bells and whistles and gave me that immediate sense of gratification. But something was still missing. I was not choosing to live by God's word. I soon found that I needed to let God choose my church and have faith that he knew where I should be. Like standing up straight feels awkward when you are not used to it ,so was my experience with searching for the right church. I needed to do what was right according to God's word, not what was right according to me. After only a few sermons I chose to be baptized in Christ at this church. I will never forget the day nor the loving open arms that welcomed me into this church.
